Database administrators (DBAs) have significant responsibilities. They must not only provide reliable access to company data, but also protect that data, monitor the database environment, troubleshoot problems, and more. If the lives of DBAs were simple, what fun would that be? That is probably why I enjoy the job so much—because of the different opportunities and challenges that I get to face day to day.
