Multi-Threaded Server

When Oracle’s Multi-Threaded Server is configured, each user process connects to a Shared Server process via a Dispatcher process (see the previous discussion of Shared Server and Dispatcher processes). SQL*Net is always required to use the Multi-Threaded Server, even if the client code and Oracle server code are running on the same machine.
