Oracle Network Manager

Oracle Network Manager, introduced in Chapter 5, is an Oracle-supplied tool that allows the DBA to create and maintain the configuration files required by the Oracle networking products SQL*Net and Net8. Oracle Network Manager will configure the following products:

SQL*Net Version 2.0 and later, and Net8

Provides client-server and server-server communication.

MultiProtocol Interchange

Provides application connectivity across protocols.

Oracle Names

Provides name resolution services for SQL*Net and Net8.

SNMP

Enables the monitoring of network objects using third-party tools.

Oracle Advanced Networking Option (ANO)

Provides a variety of add-on features, including security enhancements, DCE integration, native naming adapters, and SNMP support.
