Outside In
When the rule-based optimizer is processing a SQL statement, it looks for one of the 15 rules above to apply. If it finds that it can apply the same level rule for the same two tables, it falls back to the order in which the SQL statement is written. The table listed last in the FROM clause will be used to drive the nested loop join.
