Log Directory Structure in Oracle Grid Infrastructure
In the Oracle 11g Release 2 RAC installation, a cluster node consists of a Grid home and an Oracle RDBMS home. The Grid home is where Oracle Grid Infrastructure is installed and is commonly known as GRID_HOME. Diagnostic log files for Oracle Clusterware and ASM are stored under the $GRID_HOME/log/<hostname> directory. Each component in the Oracle Grid Infrastructure stack has its respective directories created under the $GRID_HOME/ log/<hostname> directory. Unlike earlier releases of Oracle Clusterware, Oracle Grid Infrastructure stores all Oracle Clusterware–related debug log files under the $GRID_HOME/log directory.
