Enqueue Tuning in Oracle RAC

Oracle RDBMS preserves the integrity of user data during simultaneous use of the same data block by using GCS. In addition to data blocks, end users can concurrently access many other shared resources. Oracle uses a queuing mechanism to ensure proper use of these shared resources. In an Oracle RAC environment, Global Enqueue Services (GES) protects and regulates access to these shared resources.
