2 Native XML Storage:XMLType

In Oracle XML DB, XMLType stores XML documents and is used to naively process XML data. This chapter extends the XMLType discussion in Chapter 1 by exploring the techniques for creating XMLTypes in various formats, updating XMLTypes, querying XMLTypes, and processing XMLTypes.

EXAMPLE SETUP

To run the Java examples in this chapter, you need to open the Oracle JDeveloper project using Oracle JDeveloper 11g. Please refer to Chapter 16 for more information on running applications in Oracle JDeveloper.
