Patching on Data Guard configuration
We will see how to apply patches (bug fixes and PSU) on the Data Guard configurations of physical standby and logical standby databases with and without the Data Guard broker in place. In the later part of this chapter, we will cover how to apply a patch set from 11.2.0.1 to the latest patch set level 11.2.0.3. Applying patches on physical standby is similar to doing the same on logical standby. Changes depend on what kind of patches we are applying. For bug fixes you have to apply the patch only on ORACLE_HOME, and if you are applying CPU or PSU patches, you have to run the scripts such as the catbundle.sql script. Note that it is a cumulative script.
