Many of the oradebug commands to dump structures are also available from SQL*Plus, sometimes with options to refine or restrict the content of the dump. Many of the dumps shown in the previous section can be done with a call to
alter session, or to the package
dbms_system. Then there are further dumps that you can get through
alter system calls.
If you don't want to use oradebug, the following, as a representative sample, is how you can dump the buffer cache from an ordinary SQL*Plus session:
