In the “Creating a Repository” example in this chapter, we looked at creating a simple business model from a single data source that was organized into a star schema with simple, balanced, level-based hierarchies. This is the most straightforward type of data source to model against, and if possible you should work closely with the data warehousing team within your organization to ensure that the data source for your BI system is a single, conformed, dimensional model, as this makes your job easier and also maximizes the performance of your system.
