Jer Smith entered the high-technology world in 1993 when a friend convinced him to install Linux .99 and OS/2 2.1 over Windows 3.1 on his Packard Bell computer. In Salt Lake City, UT, he owns Anagnosis (not-not-know) Consulting, a system integration and UNIX education company. He's currently working with the Department of Veteran's Affairs building's next generation Java-based clinical information systems.
