Limitations
OracleAS Instant Portal is not intended to be a full-blown portal environment. As such, there are some serious limitations. First and foremost, OracleAS Instant Portal is designed as an environment to manage content. While it is possible to place portlets on your Instant Portal (and as you’ll see, there are some default portlets available to you when you create your OracleAS Instant Portal), it was not intended for that functionality. OracleAS Instant Portal also has its own security model; if your business model requires you to create a complex security model, OracleAS Instant Portal may not be the right choice.
