Summary

Web-based applications that rely on security mechanisms to restrict data and content from users are notoriously difficult to program and test. All of OracleAS Portal’s features would be of limited value if security was arduous to set up and maintain. OracleAS Portal’s security model allows security administrators to architect their portal in such a way that users, portlets, and pages can inherit privileges from groups, providers, and page groups, respectively. This model allows users to get access to the information they need quickly, with minimal administrative effort.
