Creating Groups

A group, as mentioned earlier, is a way to group users and privileges. A user can be made a member of a group and then inherit any privileges assigned to that group. To create a group, return to the Administer tab of the OracleAS Portal and click the Create New Groups link in the middle right of the page. The Create Group page of the Oracle Identity Management Self-Service Console is displayed (Figure 10-6).

Here, you can create new groups and assign roles to them. You can also add users and other groups to your new groups. When you’re finished creating a group, click Submit to return to the Administer tab of OracleAS Portal. For more information on groups, see the sidebar "Public vs. Private Groups."
