Option Expiration Dates

Every option has an expiration date, which is usually specified as a month. US equity, index, and Treasury/interest-rate options expire on the Saturday following the third Friday in the expiration month. Trading in the options ceases on the Friday, but the owner can exercise the options on the final Saturday.
