Ethernet and IP Services over SONET/SDH
The addition of Ethernet and IP functionality to the 15454 truly makes it a multiservice platform. The ONS 15454 and 15327 multiservice provisioning platforms (MSPPs), as well as the ONS 15600 MSSP, combine carrier-class TDM transport along with Ethernet and IP over SONET/SDH. The resiliency of the underlying SONET/SDH fabric leads to a solid deterministic infrastructure for transport of Ethernet and IP services. The MSPPs are of value to carriers that offer plain old telephone service (POTS), VoIP, data services and Greenfield pure IP service providers.
