Provisioning the SONET MSPP
This book has so far covered substantial theory that serves as a buildup to the actual provisioning and implementation of the MSPP SONET network. It is important that you understand the theory behind SONET and TDM before jumping into provisioning mode. This chapter discusses the provisioning of the MSPP, SONET UPSR, BLSR, and TDM. Prior to the provisioning of TDM circuits, one must perform the basic node provisioning for the SONET infrastructure. The ONS 15454 is used as an example because it exemplifies most of the SONET provisioning aspects. The ONS 15454 is also the most deployed MSPP device in the metro edge and core.
