The Cisco Complete Optical Multiservice Edge and Transport solution, known as COMET, is an architecture that offers an end-to-end broadband solution. The COMET solution addresses photonics, protection, protocols, provisioning, and service–enablement for service provider and enterprise applications in the edge, metro, core, and long haul. Various ONS platforms are designed to scale metro, central office, and long-haul networks while extending the geographical reach of DWDM infrastructures.
