THE HERO EMPLOYEE

Some employees always go above and beyond their defined requirements and put in a heroic effort, no matter what job they’re given. These employees become the hero employees of any business. When they’re called on, they are the employees who never turn down a task and never say no. If you ask, they will be there. You often hear they have taken on a job because “it just needed to get done.” As managers, we would like to have all of our employees be this type of superstar. So what could be wrong with this kind of dedication? Nothing, if it is in response to a specific call for help. Unfortunately, not all employees are heroes, which often means that managers are overrelying on those employees who are.
