Conducting Directed Discovery

Occasionally, a researcher will visit you and say, “I need an NNM view of the network from A to B showing all the devices between them.” The standard maps your NNM shop has do not provide such a network view, perhaps because it spans an area larger than a single management domain, or because the user wants to see devices that are normally not discovered. Therefore, the researcher cannot use a standard NNM system, and you will have to visit your test lab’s NNM system and build the map from scratch.
