Chapter 8. Producing Customised Maps

Once the data of the area in which you're interested is complete enough for your purposes, you can produce maps to your own specifications. In this chapter, we'll cover how to produce one-off images of any area, including maps with custom styling.

In this chapter, you'll learn how to create maps:

  • Using the standard renderings on openstreetmap.org
  • Using a standalone rendering application for Windows, Kosmos
  • In Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format using Osmarender

These maps will be static images that you can print out, send via e-mail, and include in a website or a printed publication.
