Summary

The OpenStack Orchestration service provides a simple means to control the life cycle of your OpenStack infrastructure. Heat relies deeply on the other OpenStack services in order to provide its functionality. When troubleshooting Heat, it's important to make sure that the heat-api and heat-engine processes are running. Make sure that Keystone is correctly configured with the appropriate username and password. You will also want to make sure Keystone is up and running. Finally, if you run into trouble with a particular stack, remember to use heat event-list to help troubleshoot the issue. In the next chapter, we will begin to look at Ceilometer, the OpenStack telemetry service.
