Chapter Summary

In this chapter, you have read an introduction to compute shaders. As they are not tied to a specific part of the traditional graphics pipeline and have no fixed intended use, the amount that could be written about compute shaders is enormous. Instead, we have covered the basics and provided a couple of examples that should demonstrate how compute shaders may be used to perform the nongraphics parts of your graphics applications.
