Acknowledgments

This book results from listening to and learning from many people in both industry and academia who responded to my previous book, Open Innovation. That book argued that companies should use external ideas more in their own businesses and allow their unutilized ideas to be used by others. I have learned that this works on a personal level as well. Many of the ideas in this latest book originated from discussions with different people, while others were refined and improved. I hope that this book does justice to these insights by combining them with my own and producing something of greater value for all of us.
