Education-based P2P technologies are beginning to be used by major institutions, such as colleges, universities, and private schools. It may be a natural fit for P2P software to become part of the education process because the majority of the people currently using P2P software are students and teenagers. Of the over 100 million users of current public P2P chat and file-sharing programs, approximately 60 million are between the ages of 13 and 24.
