Organization
The first decision you need to make is whether you will outsource all of your Web presence or keep it entirely or partially in-house. No matter the choice, you will still need some organization to support it. This is true, regardless of how large or small the Web site is, because the Internet runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Someone needs to be responsible.
No single human being can support this alone. There will always be a team, an organization. It may be completely within your company. It may be split between your company's staff and one or more external providers. Or it may be outsourced to an external organization, with someone in-house overseeing it.
