What goes into a CMS? There are several things that a good system will include.

Work Areas

Also referred to as a sandbox, the work area looks and feels like a production Web site but is actually a virtual copy to let contributors add, remove, and modify assets. The use of multiple work areas encourages contributors to work on projects in parallel. This is a tremendous boost to productivity and shortens production schedules.

Staging Areas

Think of this as a “conference room” in which users can show and talk about what they've done in their individual work areas.
