Chapter 14. Web Programming Languages

There are Web page programs for the novice, and there are Web development tools for the more advanced. Web design tools is the term you'll hear the most often. It is a catchall for various scripting programs and programming languages. These differ from the more common programs, such as Photoshop, GoLive, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, and others that are WYSIWYG tools that do most of the programming for you. They vary in difficulty but can generally be used by anyone. Most of the powerful Web sites, though, are programmed with more complicated languages.
