Flash
Flash is an outstanding product by Macromedia to allow you to integrate rich content that breaks out beyond the boundaries of your Web browser, much like Java applets. The difference is speed and outstanding audio and visual capabilities. Flash can be used to create multimedia elements with motion and sound or an entire user interface.
The Macromedia Flash Player is required on the user's end to view any Flash elements that you incorporate into your Web site, but many of the latest browsers ship with Flash plug-in support already built in. Flash elements on your Web site must be downloaded first before the user can view them, which is something to consider before going “all Flash.”
