Unfortunately, buyer misconduct is a reality that all online sellers should be prepared for. Here are some strategies to address nonpayment (via bounced check or stopped payment).

Resubmit Check

Some people make honest mistakes. Before calling the cavalry, resubmit bounced checks. The check might clear. If it does, email the buyer for your extra fees.

Request Certified Payment

After three unsuccessful attempts to process the check, request payment for the original item and the bounced check fees by money order. Also send a copy of the bounced check to the buyer by certified mail so that you have proof that he or she received it.
