There are four steps in converting a CD music selection to an MP3-encoded file so that you can listen to the selection on an MP3 player.
1. | The ripper program moves sound sequences from a compact disk to the hard drive as a WAV file. |
2. | The encoder program converts the WAV to an MP3 file. |
3. | The Player program decodes and decompresses the compressed and encoded file to play the MP3. |
4. | You hear the MP3 file as normal analog sound. |
