Foolish Assumptions

I’m assuming that you are someone interested in ethical Internet marketing, a brand manager, a CEO, or just an everyday Joe who has been bullied online or had his good name tarnished and wants to re-establish his reputation online so that this is less likely to ever happen again.

Many people (and professional service providers) assume that online reputation management means monitoring for your brand’s name and pushing out good publicity to cover up any bad reviews or, if possible, getting the people publishing negative reviews or false information to retract their comments made online. Don’t assume that online reputation management is simply another term for damage control. It’s a system of behavior that actually creates positive opportunities for your business that never would have existed unless you made the effort to put your best foot forward online.
