  • Amy B. Crane (http://www.amybcrane.com) helps people make sense of personal finance, mutual funds, and investing through her writing for magazines, books, and the Web. The author of The NAIC Mutual Fund Handbook, she writes a monthly mutual fund column for Better Investing magazine and articles on consumer finance issues for Bankrate.com. She teaches mutual fund classes at regional and national investing conferences, and has developed curriculum and taught online investing classes. A graduate of Furman University, Amy lives and invests in Erie, PA.

  • Martha Sippel (http://www.azuwrite.com) abandoned her corporate lifestyle to become an independent consultant who creates solutions with the user in mind. She likes to create user interfaces for web applications and web sites. A native of Colorado and an information architect with 28 years of experience in technical communication, she was a geologist in her former career. Martha is a senior member of the Society for Technical Communication, where she has authored articles and presented at regional and international conferences.

  • Doug Gerlach (http://www.douglasgerlach.com) is the author of several books on investing and a recognized authority on online investing. He is featured in television and radio, as well as in publications, including The Wall Street Journal, ComputerWorld, HomePC, Barron’s, New York Magazine, Los Angeles Business Review, Fidelity Focus, The St. Petersburg Times, CNNfn’s Digital Jam, Extra Help Channel’s In The Money, and ZDTV’s The Money Machine. He has founded several financial web sites, including Investment-Clubs.com, a clearinghouse for investment club information; DRIPCentral.com, a resource for direct investing; ArmchairMillionaire.com, a site committed to teaching “common sense saving and investing” strategies; and the now-defunct Investorama.com. He is also the cocreator of the NAIC web site.

  • Saul Seinberg is an attorney specializing in intellectual property law for a large computer company. He has been active in the study of investments since wrangling a job as an order clerk on the floor of the American Stock Exchange back in its precomputer days when orders were transmitted to floor brokers by hand signals. A firm believer in the use of fundamentals to identify quality and growth companies, and technical analysis to determine when to buy, hold, or sell them, Saul resides in Colorado, near Boulder, and enjoys his adopted state’s many recreational opportunities. He also applies his investment techniques to the use of covered call options to supplement and boost portfolio performance. Saul is a lifetime member of both AAII and NAIC who looks forward each day to the market’s many opportunities and challenges.

  • Ellis Traub (http://www.financialiteracy.us) is the founder of Inve$tWare Corporation, which sells fundamental analysis tools (Take $tock and the Investor’s Toolkit). A popular speaker at both local and national events, he is the author of Take $tock (Dearborn Trade Publishing) in addition to many articles for Better Investing magazine and Bits, the NAIC Computer Group’s newsletter. His latest endeavor is a non-profit foundation, Financial Literacy for Youth (http://www.financialiteracy.us), dedicated to teaching kids everything they need to know about money before leaving high school.

  • Jim Thomas is an individual investor and has been a member of NAIC for nine years. He started programming computers in 1969 and uses Excel spreadsheets on a regular basis to help with monitoring and evaluating investments.

  • Bob Adams (http://bobadams.homestead.com/bobsite.html) is an investor, a teacher, and a frequent speaker at local and national investor conferences. A strong believer in the teachings of the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC), he maintains a web site where he posts files and information used in his teaching and tools for making investing decisions. Credit for many of the innovations contained in his investment tools goes to the conference attendees who offered suggestions or encouragement.

  • Gordon Gerwig (http://www.spredgar.com) is an avid individual investor and a member of the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII). He is a candidate for Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam administered by the Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR). He has worked in the financial services industry as a financial advisor for both Morgan Stanley and American Express. He has passed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam.
