As you are developing your community plan, take some time to analyze your potential competitors. You may think that you already know your competition, but remember that the competitive landscape online is quite different from what you have been dealing with offline. For example, imagine that you are a pasta producer and want to start a cooking community. One of your competitors might even be an individual who owns a popular blog about Italian recipes. Or you might be competing against a women’s magazine that offers successful discussion groups for users to talk about cooking pasta.
