Organizations have many projects from which to choose, but they usually don’t have the resources to perform them all. So, they must choose. A dart board is expedient, but not the right approach for organizations that care about achieving their objectives. Most organizations quickly realize that they need a process and guidelines for selecting projects if they want to consistently pick the right projects to carry out. The same process works equally well to stop projects that aren’t delivering the desired results.
