Overview of Stereo Microphone Techniques
Stereo microphone techniques are used mainly to record classical music ensembles and soloists on location. These methods capture a sonic event as a whole, typically using only two or three microphones. During playback of a stereo recording, images of the musical instruments are heard in various locations between the stereo speakers.
