SECTION THREE Ready to Wear . . . or Not

For all of the emphasis I have placed on authenticity, that rule does not apply to what you wear on camera. You want your audience to focus on what you are saying, not what you are wearing. Now is not the time to be showing how “on trend” you are or showing off your collection of vintage Hawaiian shirts. On camera, boring is better.

This section covers some wardrobe do's and don'ts, and gives you guidance on how to find a camera-friendly outfit in your own closet. It will also make the pitch for makeup so your performance, not your nose, will shine. The section is divided into the following chapters:
