query

A component of certain SQL statements that specifies a result table.

query block

The part of a query that is represented by one of the FROM clauses. Each FROM clause can have multiple query blocks, depending on DB2's internal processing of the query.

query CP parallelism

Parallel execution of a single query, which is accomplished by using multiple tasks.

query I/O parallelism

Parallel access of data, which is accomplished by triggering multiple I/O requests within a single query.

quiesce point

A point at which data is consistent as a result of running the DB2 QUIESCE utility.
