The process of undoing uncommitted changes that an application process made. This process might be necessary in the event of a failure on the part of an application process or as a result of a deadlock.

backward log recovery

The fourth and final phase of restart processing during which DB2 scans the log in a backward direction to apply UNDO log records for all aborted changes.

base table
