PowerPoint is a presentation program. It does not have any data manipulation capabilities. However, once your data is ready to show, PowerPoint is often the best way to create clear, eye-catching graphics. You can create individual slides, which can be exported to other applications, and you can also create entire slide shows with automatic timing and narration. In my experience, Office developers do not need to turn to PowerPoint all that often. But when you do need its presentation features, you'll be glad to have it.
