Chapter Six. Using Excel Components

Excel is a spreadsheet program specialized for analysis and display of numerical data. Excel can store numerical and text data. It can also perform calculations with the data and create charts based on the data. It provides a large number of specialized functions for commonly needed calculations, including financial, statistical, and scientific. When you need numerical processing and charting, you will probably turn to Excel. This chapter provides an overview of the Excel object model and how you can use it in your custom Office applications.
