Objects and Automation

The “bricks” that you use to construct your Office applications are the various components, or objects, that are exposed by the Office applications. Collectively, these are referred to as the Office object model. In order to efficiently develop effective solutions you need to understand this model both in its details and in the overall picture. The details consist of the multitude of properties, methods, and events that comprise each object's interface, and to be honest with you, I don't think there's anyone who knows all of the details!
