5.8. Sending Links via Send To
SharePoint can send a link for any document, image, or form to anyone via e-mail. You can find this option by opening the drop-down list for any item in a library or list. In the drop-down menu, point to Send To to open the secondary flyout menu. In this menu, select the option E-mail a link. This opens a normal e-mail message with the link to the item in the body of the message.
When the e-mail recipient receives the e-mail message, she can click the link to open and edit the document, resulting in a more efficient, smaller e-mail message than sending the entire file.
