Understanding Outlook Profiles

Outlook creates an Outlook profile upon initial startup when you configure an email account in Outlook. That profile is loaded every time you start Outlook. It provides information to Outlook related to your email account (or accounts) configuration. You can use different types of email accounts in Outlook and have only one Outlook profile. However, multiple profiles can help sequester settings for different types of email accounts in their own related profiles.
