Excel 2013 provides all the number-crunching power of its predecessors and offers many new features and enhancements. When you open the Excel 2013 application window, the New Start screen greets you. In earlier versions of Excel, you were pretty much on your own when it came to building a new workbook. Upon startup, Excel opened a blank worksheet, and everything else was up to you. Excel’s new Start screen, shown in Figure 11.1, grants quick access to a new, blank workbook. However, Excel now also provides quick access to workbook templates.
