Macros and Office 2013

The capability to record software commands via keystrokes (and, eventually, mouse clicks) and save them in the form of a short script or mini-program has been available in the Office applications for years. This series of recorded commands that is saved as a short script or routine is called a macro. The great thing about macros is that they can help you automate repetitive tasks.

Another great thing about macros is that you don’t have to be a programmer to create some useful macros. You don’t have to write the code for the macro—you simply record it (although a special form of the Visual Basic programming language is designed for use with the Office applications).
