Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to work quickly with text in your documents by using Word-specific features. You now know how to enter text quickly by inserting the contents of a file, by using the AutoText feature, and by using formatted AutoCorrect entries.

We examined how to set up Word to display your custom templates in the New pane in Backstage view; how to make Word automatically create backups of your documents as a safety measure; and how to use views, windows, and splitting to work quickly and efficiently in your documents. You also know how to use the Navigation pane to move through your documents.

In the next chapter, I'll show you how to format your documents.
