Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to work with text in the Office programs. We started by looking at how to enter text in your documents, using every means from the keyboard to optical character recognition and speech recognition. We moved on to navigating with the keyboard and applying direct formatting, then covered using the Cut, Copy, and Paste tools and the Find and Replace features.

You also learned to create tables by using the Insert Table command or by drawing a table, how to adjust tables by merging and splitting cells, and how to add content to the resulting table and format it. And I showed you how you can easily insert hyperlinks in your documents.

In the next chapter, you'll learn to work with pictures and graphics.
