Summary

In the first half of this chapter, you learned how to create a flat-file database in an Excel worksheet, enter data in it either directly or by using a data-entry form, and how to format the database to look the way you want. You also learned to sort and filter the data in the database.

In the second half of the chapter, you learned to use Excel to solve business problems. You now know how to use Excel's scenarios to enter different sets of values in a worksheet and switch quickly among the sets, and you can use the Goal Seek feature to work backward from the desired result of a calculation to derive a value required to produce that result.
