Choosing Slide Layouts to Suit the Contents

To get your material onto a slide, and to make it look good, you need to choose a suitable layout. You can either use one of PowerPoint's built-in slide layouts or create a custom layout of your own.

Using PowerPoint's Built-in Slide Layouts

For most presentations, the best way to start creating slides is by using the nine standard layouts that you can insert from the Home images Slides images New Slide drop-down panel (see Figure 20–1). Table 20–1 explains the layouts and what they're best for.
